Device settings

Change the gateway identity, administrator credentials, and local setup hotspot.

On this page

Open System > Settings, then select a settings section. On a narrow screen, select All settings to return to the section list.

Device identity

  1. Open Device identity

Select Device identity from the settings list.

  2. Enter the identifiers

Edit Device name and Site name.

  3. Save the identity

    Select Save identity.

Use stable, unique values that make the gateway easy to identify in your MQTT topics, dashboards, inventory, and support records.

Both fields are required and may contain up to 31 UTF-8 bytes.

Device identity assigns the gateway and installation names used throughout the console and published data.

Administrator account

  1. Open Administrator account

Select Administrator account from the settings list.

  2. Enter the new username

Enter 8-31 letters, numbers, dots, underscores, or hyphens.

  3. Verify the current account

    Enter the Current account password.

  4. Enter the new password

Enter 8-63 UTF-8 bytes. The new password must differ from the current password.

  5. Update the account

Select Update administrator account and use the new credentials the next time you sign in.

Administrator account settings replace the console username and password after current-password verification.

Wi-Fi setup hotspot

  1. Open Wi-Fi setup hotspot

Select Wi-Fi setup hotspot from the settings list.

  2. Change the hotspot name

Edit Hotspot name if the installation requires a different local network name.

  3. Change the password if required

Enter the Current hotspot password and a New hotspot password. Leave the new password blank to keep the existing password.

  4. Save and reconnect

Select Save hotspot settings, then reconnect your laptop or mobile device using the new hotspot details.

The hotspot name is required and may contain up to 32 UTF-8 bytes. A new hotspot password must contain 8-63 characters. When a password is already configured, the current password is required before it can be replaced.

Hotspot settings change the local setup-network name and, when required, its password.
